Spyridon Bakas graduated in 2016 from the University of Strathclyde with a BEng Honours degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. He later obtained a MSc in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from the University of Glasgow in 2017. He started as CMP PhD student in 2017 in the field of light sheet microscopy and his 3-year research is centred around the application of MEMS mirrors in miniaturization of a light-sheet microscope, under the supervision of Dr Ralf Bauer (primary supervisor) and Prof Deepak Uttamchandani (secondary supervisor).
